The Events and Activities Chair leads a team of volunteers responsible for creating community activities outside the classroom, such as icebreakers, raffles, and guest speaker events. This role involves coordinating, communicating, and leading a team to enhance the conference experience.

Conference volunteers contribute in various essential ways, such as helping with setup and take down, staffing the information desk, directing participants, and assisting with evening programs. Volunteers ensure a successful FOBA conference for all attendees.

Engage in outreach activities, coordinate volunteers, liaise with local businesses, assist in fundraising, and manage social media outreach.

Assist with the Historic Homes Tour, Garden Tour, Cemetery Tours, and other events. Volunteers are needed for both day-of-event support and pre-event planning and organization.

Support events by designing images or layouts using graphic design software and writing articles for newsletters or copy for brochures.

Help maintain the historic A.T. Smith House and its grounds through activities like painting, mowing, gardening, and general handy-person work.

Volunteer as a museum docent or work behind-the-scenes doing research, scanning photos, or cataloging collections at the Museum & Library at the Old Train Station.

Volunteers are needed every Thursday to assist with the operations of the food bank, including distributing food and cleaning up after the food bank closes. Volunteers can contribute just an hour or two to make a significant impact.

Enjoy the amazing art while helping to promote the library at Hillsboro's summer artistic showcase, La Strada held on Main Street in downtown Hillsboro. Volunteers help set up the outreach display, run the activity table, guide families through fun crafts, and hand out free books. Great event for creative, chatty people.

Looking for individuals who are interested in gaining fire and EMS skills while getting assistance with College Tuition. We have a few openings in our student volunteer program. As a student Volunteer you would fill a 24 hour shift as a Intern Firefighter and help respond to any emergency calls while on shift. In return we would help with reimbursement toward your college degree. Student Interns must be enrolled to obtain either an EMS degree or a Fire services degree. U of O's Natural and Cultural History Museum returns with a great environmentally based program. Volunteers are needed to help with hands on activities the museum brings.

Help the STEM librarian with setting up the science activity tables, helping patrons experience the hands on science, and then staying to clean up and put away the supplies.

Assist storyteller Librarian with setting up and cleaning up the space after the story for babies, birth to 12 months.

Assist librarian with set up and support for the first Friday of every month Teen get together. The program is designed for ages 10-14 who come together to enjoy various activities including crafts, playing games, watching movies, and just hanging out.

Assist patrons with the summer reading program display. Explain how the program works, help people pick out a free book to start their reading journey.

Assist patrons with learning how to use their devices and basic computer programs.

English/Spanish storytime helpers support the storyteller by welcoming patrons and helping with any crafts.
