We have a need for all types of volunteers from fundraising to maintenance and of course firefighters! Support Station maintenance - mowing, weed eating, cleaning, welding and general upkeep. Fundraising planner - Assist in the selection, planning and execution of fundraising events. Grant Writer - Assist with finding and applying for the right type of grant for us. Truck Mechanic - We always need help maintaining our fleet of apparatus from repairs to general maintenance. Firefighter Professional Volunteer Firefighters to be on call and respond to all types of alarm calls such as fires, medical, car wrecks and rescues. Learn while Volunteering! Don't have any of these specific skills? That's ok because we will train you on site! | Requirements: All positions- Must be trustworthy, at least 18 years of age, have no felony record, be willing to submit to a back ground check and drug test if required, and most of all have the desire to selflessly serve the community and fire department in a manner that brings respect and dignity to the department. Support positions- Experience in the selected fields a plus and certifications would be great but there is a place for everyone. General knowledge of chosen support category and willingness to be flexible, self-motivated and work well with others. You don't necessarily need your own tools but if you do that's great. You should be healthy enough to safely perform all duties you requested. Volunteer Firefighter- TIME, the number one thing you must have is enough time to meet minimum attendance requirements (don't worry, we have some people that work two jobs, have kids and still make time to meet the requirements). No experience necessary but must be willing to train. We provide training and it is for your safety as well as ours and the public (If you've had training that's good also). Must be physically fit; firefighting is a dangerous and demanding job that requires numerous activities in sometimes stressful and extreme environments. Must have heart; the most important quality of a volunteer firefighter is compassion and caring for those in need no matter how small or large the event is. Must have a valid state-issued drivers license and must have dependable transportation (how else are you going to get to the station to drive the big red trucks?). | Categories: Firefighter, Fundraising, Community Education, Department Support, Other, EMT
