CLASS CHARACTERISTICS Work involves the protection of life and property through firefighting, fire prevention, and emergency medical care activities; some of which may require strenuous physical exertion under such conditions as smoke, fire, heat, and cramped quarters. Work includes direct participation and continual training in firefighting and rescue work, fire protection inspection, equipment operation, and routine maintenance of equipment apparatus and of fire stations and grounds. Work is directly supervised by a department officer and is regularly reviewed through observations, inspections of work in progress, results obtained, and work performance evaluations. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under direct supervision of the Full-time Firefighter and Fire Chief, as well as utilizing the appropriate chain of command. SUPERVISION EXERCISED None. Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks related to the production of musical theater performances. Responsibilities may include helping with set construction, costume preparation, and assisting during performances.
Carlisle Fire Department
The Town of Carlisle has an on-call fire department. We provide the full range of life safety emergency services. The department provides all training and equipment. Members are paid by the call. If you live in Carlisle this is an excellent way to help your neighbors and become a part of the community. We work as a team to provide excellent service to the residents of the town. This would mean responding from a location within the town or on an immediate border. Must attend training two Wednesday evenings a month. 100 hours or more of availability a month is expected. Obtaining Firefighter I/II certification after employment is encouraged. The department will sponsor employees for the call/vol program at the state fire academy. EMTs needed for on-call fire department. Respond from home/work to the fire station for EMS calls. Basic EMTs needed for two ambulances. When needed, ALS is provided by a hospital-based service. The department provides training one Wednesday evening a month. New employees will respond to calls as additional EMTs until they are fully trained by the department and ready to take on the primary responsibility for patient care.
