The Sherborn Fire & Rescue Department provides fire & emergency services to the Town of Sherborn and a population of approximately 4,600. The department consists of a combination of on call firefighters and part time EMS personnel, who responded to 650 calls in 2020. The department has (2) fire stations and has on duty EMS personnel 24/7/365. Support the Nutrition Education program by helping to organize classes and distribute educational materials. Volunteers may also assist in teaching basic nutrition principles to community members.

Assist low and moderate income families with free tax preparation through the VITA program. Volunteers will help clients prepare and file their tax returns, ensuring they receive all eligible credits and deductions.

Provide a temporary home for dogs and cats rescued by Brown Dog Coalition. Responsibilities include caring for the animal, providing a safe environment, and assisting with the adoption process.

Volunteers are encouraged to join their local disaster animal response team (DART) or consider starting a local DART if their town is without one. Volunteers will support animals during emergency situations.

Veterinary personnel are needed to help BART trainers teach triage and pet handling to first responders. This role involves educating first responders on animal care during emergencies.

Assist in organizing and supporting accessible hiking and camping events in the New England region. Volunteers will help ensure safety and accessibility for all participants.

Specialist Team Members contribute their specialized skills to help with workshops or provide support in areas such as life coaching, mock interviews, resume writing, and budgeting.

After orientation and training, Accountability Partners volunteer about an hour a week to collaborate with program participants on goal-setting exercises and work together towards achieving those goals over the next twelve months.
