Volunteers assist with tasks such as packing grocery bags for distribution, prepping and packing food for the freezer program, loading and unloading food deliveries, general clean-up, and organizing dry and canned goods. Volunteers are essential to the organization and shifts are available Tuesdays through Thursdays.

The Sherborn Fire & Rescue Department provides fire & emergency services to the Town of Sherborn and a population of approximately 4,600. The department consists of a combination of on call firefighters and part time EMS personnel, who responded to 650 calls in 2020. The department has (2) fire stations and has on duty EMS personnel 24/7/365. Volunteers will assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals to refugee children, contributing to their daily nutrition and fostering community through shared meals. Responsibilities include meal preparation, serving, and engaging with the children during meal times.

Volunteers will coach organized soccer and baseball teams for refugee children, focusing on building confidence, discipline, and community through structured sports programs. Responsibilities include conducting regular practices and games, and fostering teamwork and life skills.

Support the Nutrition Education program by helping to organize classes and distribute educational materials. Volunteers may also assist in teaching basic nutrition principles to community members.

Help coordinate activities and provide support for senior programs. Volunteers will engage with seniors, assist with event planning, and help maintain program records.

Assist low and moderate income families with free tax preparation through the VITA program. Volunteers will help clients prepare and file their tax returns, ensuring they receive all eligible credits and deductions.

Provide a temporary home for dogs and cats rescued by Brown Dog Coalition. Responsibilities include caring for the animal, providing a safe environment, and assisting with the adoption process.

Veterinary personnel are needed to help BART trainers teach triage and pet handling to first responders. This role involves educating first responders on animal care during emergencies.

Volunteers are encouraged to join their local disaster animal response team (DART) or consider starting a local DART if their town is without one. Volunteers will support animals during emergency situations.

After orientation and training, Accountability Partners volunteer about an hour a week to collaborate with program participants on goal-setting exercises and work together towards achieving those goals over the next twelve months.

Join a group to assist with farm operations and help grow fresh, sustainable vegetables. Groups participate in a 3-hour session and receive an orientation and farm tour.

Participate in harvesting, washing, and packing farm-fresh produce. Volunteers are required to commit to 5 Fridays (not consecutive) and must be at least 16 years old.

Assist with essential farm tasks such as weeding, composting, and digging to support the farm's educational and food production efforts. No special skills or experience are needed, and volunteers are trained on-site.

The Lincoln Fire Department is a combination department with 3 career members per shift and 1 call firefighter. The call firefighter position is a paid, scheduled shift nights and weekends. The Call Firefighter must be an EMT with ambulance experience and firefighter I/II certified. Candidates should expect to work at least a shift a week and be responsible for ambulance transports and fire response in an engine or ladder.
