If firefighting and extrication of patients from vehicles peaks your interest, we offer many training opportunities that can help you achieve your firefighter certification. If neither firefighting or the medical aspect of being on the department interests you there are always many other different ways you can help us. On traffic accidents we have a variety of tasks that need to be completed that do not involve firefighting, extrication, or medical care. We do community outreach in schools and daycares as a partnership with the Jackson County Fire Marshal's Office. We hold an open house each year, we host blood drives and we participate in community events like the Christmas parade, Fire Prevention Week Parade and WCU's Homecoming parade. Our membership is open to everyone. The only requirements are that you show up with a helping heart and the dedication to serve everyone in our community. We meet every Monday night at 7pm and some Thursday nights at the same time.
