We are one of ten fire companies in Franklin Township and we cover a densely populated 3.5 square miles that borders the City of New Brunswick. The population is approximately 30,000 people!! We respond to both natural emergencies and man made emergencies. We total approximately 700 calls for service per year. We have a multiple pieces of apparatus including a Ladder Company, Engine Company, Rescue Company and Technical Rescue Company, along with a support vehicle and Chiefs vehicles. All training and equipment is provided free of charge! We give free access to wi-fi, as well as printing services for our membership. We also provide overnight accommodations for those who would like to spend the night! The only ask from you is some of your free time, your dedication and your commitment with providing the best service to the community of Franklin Township Fire District #3! | Requirements: Emergency Services experience (Firefighter, EMT/Paramedic, CPR/First Aid) is always welcome and a plus, but it is not required. Our completely volunteer membership operates an engine, a ladder truck and a Haz-mat response unit from our Wiley Drive firehouse. Our primary response area consists mainly of high-tech industries, large area distribution facilities, multi-story offices and hotels, a quickly growing residential area, two miles and two interchanges of Interstate Route 287. Ladder 26 serves as the primary ladder truck company for Franklin Township Fire District One and the Borough of Millstone, and responds to all fires and smoke condition calls, district-wide. Haz-Mat 26 carries bulk absorbents and provides primary defensive Haz-mat operations for Fire District One as well. In 2014 we responded to 716 calls for assistance, including fires, automatic fire alarms, motor vehicle accidents and other service calls. The time our membership devoted to training resulted in hundreds of man-hours being donated by our membership to the citizens of Franklin Township.
