Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks at the Frostproof Historical Museum, including helping with genealogy, organizing exhibits, and supporting the Historical Society's mission. Volunteers will play a crucial role in preserving the history of Frostproof.

Firefighter Support personnel provide direct support services to the Department and the Department’s personnel individually or as a member of a team. Firefighter Support Members can be utilized in many different roles to support the Department both administratively and in response to fire, rescue, hazmat, and other incidents. Firefighter Support Members do not actively engage in fire suppression, direct rescue operations or other situations that would be considered a direct threat. Firefighters are under the supervision of the department officers and provide direct services, individually and as a member of a team in response to fire, medical, rescue, hazmat, and other incidents. Firefighters are certified by the State of Florida as Firefighter I or Firefighter II. | Requirements: These requirements can be met after being accepted onto the department. Firefighter I (FF-1) - This course is a minimum of 191 hours. The course will meet the Job Performance Requirements (JPR) of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, (2019 edition). The Hazardous Materials component of the course must meet or exceed NFPA 1072: Standard for Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications (2017 Edition). The course will present the history of the fire service, firefighter safety and health, communications, building construction, the science of fire, PPE, fire extinguishers, ropes and knots, search and rescue, vehicle extrication and technical rescue, ladders, ventilation, water supply, hose handling, fire streams and fire control, salvage and overhaul, and fire and life safety initiatives.
