The Salem Center Volunteer Fire Department is looking for individuals wanting to make a difference in their community. We are looking for volunteers to be firefighters and / or medical responders. We also looking for people that can help with office support and fundraisers. Training will be required for any firefighter / medical responder. This training will be provided by the department and could be located at other training sites. | Requirements: Attend one meeting a month. One day each for fire and medical trainings (2 hours) One quarterly fire training (usually a Saturday morning) Be able to respond to calls at any hour of the day when you are available. Volunteers are essential to the care and well-being of the horses at Shadarobah Horse Rescue. Responsibilities include feeding, grooming, and general care of the horses to ensure their health and happiness.

Volunteers at Parkview provide invaluable time, talents, and services to patients, their family members, and guests by offering excellent hospitality and service. Responsibilities include guiding patients and visitors to their destinations, assisting with clerical work, or working in hospital gift shops.

Engage with the community through educational programs about raptors and conservation efforts. Volunteers will present information to schools and community groups.

Support the maintenance and upkeep of the rehabilitation center's facilities. Tasks may include cleaning, repairs, and landscaping.

Assist in the care and rehabilitation of injured raptors, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health. Volunteers will work closely with experienced staff to ensure the well-being of the birds.

Participate in the rescue and transportation of injured raptors to the rehabilitation center. Volunteers must be able to handle birds safely and communicate effectively with the public.

Hospice volunteers engage with patients and their families during challenging times by providing bereavement support, caregiver relief, companionship visits, and other supportive duties. This role offers a meaningful experience in providing comfort and support.

Volunteers at The Old Fort assist with a variety of tasks including programming, maintenance, and event support. Volunteers are required to fill out a general Volunteer Form to apply.

Volunteers are needed to help inventory, sort, and wrap gifts for families in need. This role is crucial in ensuring that each family receives the items they need and want during the holiday season.
