Carlisle Fire & Rescue Services is looking for help from the community. We need volunteers to help us with our mission of protecting lives and property in the Carlisle area. While we always have a need for firefighters and rescue technicians, we are also looking for help with jobs you may not associate with the fire department. We need help with administrative duties (clerical work), help with raising funds, general maintenance to equipment and facilities, and many more odd jobs that require the time of our volunteers. The Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department is in need of Active Firefighters. We cover a 50+ square mile area including Hidden Valley Ski Resort. We are also first due on all fires to Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Our department handles vehicle accidents, brush fires, structure fires, hazmat incidents, traffic control, and a range of other types of calls. We average 125 calls per year. The Shaft VFD is always looking for new members. Whether you want to ride the fire engine, help with fundraisers, or become involved with our administrative side there is something to do for everyone! Shaft runs approximately 300 calls per year. We have an engine-rescue, engine, utility, and brush truck. We hold a BINGO fundraiser every Wednesday night and 2 Cash Bashes per year to raise money for operating costs and other expenses.
