The Bayard Community Kitchen prepares and cooks meals for thousands of neighbors across Central Virginia. Feed More's Bayard Community Kitchen has three volunteer opportunities: Meal Packaging, Meal Preparation, and Box & Bag Packaging.

Volunteers will support the community in the enrollment process for SNAP as well as data entry and outreach surrounding the program.

Volunteers will assist in delivering meals to children as part of the Children's Programs.

Volunteers will assist packing coolers with pre-packaged Meals on Wheels meals and loading volunteers' cars.

Healing Circle Leaders are trained grief counselors or mental health professionals who facilitate support groups for children. A degree in social work, therapy, counseling, or a related field is required for this role.

As a Big Buddy, you will be paired one-to-one with a child (Little Buddy) and participate in all aspects of camp alongside them. This role is active and involves running, jumping, climbing, and lifting, but is also very rewarding as you provide support and companionship to grieving children.

Registered nurses are needed onsite for the entire camp weekend to administer medications and handle any medical needs. This role requires a valid nursing license and the ability to work overnight.

This role involves creating content for social media, filming activities, and documenting interviews during camp. Basic video skills are needed, and a passion for storytelling is essential.

As a workshop facilitator, you will run workshops on various topics such as dining etiquette, job interview techniques, and college classroom dynamics. Your expertise will provide students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in diverse settings.

As an essay editor, you will work with students to help them craft compelling college application essays that reflect their unique stories and strengths. Your guidance will help alleviate the anxiety often associated with this important component of the application process.

As a career speaker, you will share your career journey and insights with students, helping to inspire them and expose them to a variety of career paths. Your story can provide valuable perspectives and motivate students to explore new possibilities.

As a GUIDES mentor, you will assist high school seniors with the college, financial aid, and scholarship application processes. You will work with one or two students at a time, meeting monthly to ensure they complete key steps correctly and promptly.

Join us on our home build sites to help construct homes for families in need. Volunteers will assist with various tasks including swinging hammers, painting, and landscaping, contributing to the creation of affordable housing.

Help organize and manage donated items in our ReStores. Volunteers will assist with sorting, pricing, and displaying items to support our mission of affordable homeownership.

Assist with special events hosted by Richmond Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers will help with setup, registration, and various event activities to ensure a successful gathering.

Assist with various administrative tasks in the office, including organizing materials, preparing mailings, and supporting staff with day-to-day operations. This is a great opportunity for those looking to contribute behind the scenes.

Help facilitate monthly programs for families and individuals with Down syndrome. Responsibilities include assisting with activities, providing support, and engaging with participants to create a welcoming environment.

Join us in supporting our various community events throughout the year, including the annual Step Up for Down Syndrome event and the Education Conference. Volunteers will assist with event setup, registration, and providing support to participants.
