Lead Volunteers dedicate more time to service, coordinating events and workdays, and providing input to improve LOCC operations. They rotate with other lead volunteers to manage activities and attend periodic meetings.

Assist families at the LOCC facility by helping them obtain needed items and communicate additional requirements to the organization. Volunteers may also facilitate the storage of donated items outside normal office hours.

Provide one-time assistance for large scheduled activities and events, such as sorting donations and property maintenance. Volunteers are informed of upcoming needs to ensure adequate staffing for events.

Assist in the daily care and socialization of Beagles at the rescue. Responsibilities include feeding, walking, and providing companionship to the dogs.

Volunteers are needed to assist in organizing and managing family conferences, support groups, and other events. Responsibilities include event setup, participant assistance, and providing information to attendees.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the care and adoption of dogs at the Dog Adoption House. Responsibilities include feeding, walking, and socializing dogs, as well as assisting potential adopters.

Assist in organizing and managing events to support animal rescue efforts. Volunteers may help with setup, coordination, and engaging with the public during events.

Drive animals to designated 'meet up' cities to facilitate their transfer to new foster homes. Volunteers must be comfortable handling animals during transport.

Volunteers will assist immigrant students in Tara High School classrooms during school hours, committing to a minimum of 3 hours weekly. Volunteers will receive training and support to contribute to student success through culturally-responsive and healing-centered approaches.

Volunteers assist with the 'drive-through' model distribution, helping off-load the truck and bringing distributions to vehicles. Volunteer shifts are available at several distribution sites throughout the 11-parish service area.

Volunteers serve in the repack room to separate food into basic categories such as beverages, condiments, canned goods, snacks, etc. Shifts are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
