Over the years, our mission has changed to not only include firefighting but also responding to hazardous materials incidents, motor vehicle accidents, aircraft emergencies, as well as supporting neighboring towns with mutual aid support. The membership maintains our fleet of emergency vehicles and equipment, so we are always prepared to handle any situation we are faced with. We are proud of our ability to provide first class services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is not an easy task. Assist in organizing and coordinating the collection and distribution of diverse children's books to underprivileged children and organizations across the United States. Volunteers will help manage book donations and ensure they are shipped to the appropriate recipients.

Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities that can provide funding for Lyme Disease education and research initiatives. Volunteers will compile and present findings to the organization.

Assist in organizing and managing awareness and fundraising events to support Lyme Disease education and research. Volunteers will help with event setup, attendee coordination, and information dissemination.

This position requires extensive horse knowledge and experience, a strong dedication, reliability, and a caring attitude towards children. Volunteer instructors receive continuous SpiritHorse Training in specific methods before, during, and after each session.

Barn help volunteers assist with cleaning the barn and paddocks, providing interaction with horses without the responsibilities of a sidewalker.

This position involves helping with day-to-day administrative duties such as mailings, copies, and filing. Volunteers assist in maintaining the smooth operation of the center.

Sidewalkers ensure the rider's safety by walking beside them and assisting in mounting and dismounting. They also advise the instructor on communication with the rider. Comfortable walking shoes and hydration are recommended.

Horse leaders work with each horse and get certified to lead a specific horse based on their handling skills. This position requires extensive horse knowledge, experience, dedication, reliability, and a caring attitude towards both horses and riders.

The Pleasant Valley Fire Department serves the community of Barkhamsted Connecticut. We provide volunteer fire and rescue services. We are a small department responding to about 200 calls per year. We have immediate and critical need for new staff. We have lost several members in the last few years and are running short. Participate in a summer program handling horses, learning about horse care, and performing chores. This program is mentored by seasoned volunteers and qualifies as volunteer hours for school.

Participate in team-building activities that support farm projects and horse care. Custom experiences are available to align with company values, offering a rewarding volunteer opportunity.
