For over 80 years, our members have been serving our community by providing fire suppression, fire prevention, and rescue services to the residents and visitors of The Town of East Granby. Over the years, our mission has changed to not only include firefighting but also responding to hazardous materials incidents, motor vehicle accidents, aircraft emergencies, as well as supporting neighboring towns with mutual aid support. The membership maintains our fleet of emergency vehicles and equipment, so we are always prepared to handle any situation we are faced with. We are proud of our ability to provide first class services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is not an easy task. Our members are required to train constantly and keep abreast of changes in our industry, so we can continue to be a leader in emergency services. | Requirements: The East Granby Fire Department is always in search of motivated individuals to assist us in our goal of providing professional emergency services to the Town of East Granby. Aside of our requirements, membership in the East Granby Fire Department is open to all qualified persons residing within the boundaries of East Granby, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, color, national origin or religious beliefs. Members are required to attend a certain percentage of drills and incidents each year to maintain good standing in the Department. The East Granby Fire Department holds in-house training drills and meetings on every Monday night. In addition, members of the Department are highly encouraged to attend training classes and seminars outside of the Department, all of which are paid for by the East Granby Fire Department.
