The members of the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department are dedicated to providing professional level service to the community. Manhasset Lakeville firefighters and medics have been providing a valuable service to the residents and businesses in our 12+ miles of area for over 100 years, giving unselfishly, through all types of fire, rescue, and medical emergencies. Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks and events to support individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment. Responsibilities may include event support, administrative tasks, and community outreach.

Adult volunteers are 18 years or older interested in gaining volunteer experience. Volunteers are expected to commit to a particular day of the week and no less than 30 hours a year.

Youth volunteers are high school students aged 15-17 interested in volunteering for school credit or work experience. Volunteers are expected to volunteer one day a week after school during fall and spring, and up to three days a week in summer.

APEC accepts undergraduate and graduate students required by their college to complete an internship. Interns work on projects in education and animal care departments.

Join the ReWild Volunteer Crew to plant pollinator gardens and harvest produce at organic farms. Volunteers can also participate in tabling, public speaking, or assisting with plant sales.

Assist in maintaining rain gardens to enhance local biodiversity and manage stormwater. Volunteers will work on-site to care for native plants and learn sustainable gardening practices.

Engage directly with children and adults who have developmental disabilities in various programs. Activities may include assisting with arts and crafts, recreational activities, and community outings.

Provide temporary homes for rescued animals, helping them with socialization and care until they are ready for adoption. Volunteers must be willing to open their homes and hearts to animals in need.
