The Mineola Junior Fire Department offers youth from ages 14-17 the ability to start the firefighter training. All members will train with the members of the Mineola Volunteer Fire Department each week and given the opportunity to be apart of the "Ride Along" Program that allows them to respond to calls with the department. As a junior they part of our exterior firefighter classification; aiding in securing water supplies, setting up ladders, and assist fire truck chauffeurs. Junior firefighters are expected to attend trainings on Sundays and Mondays as well as special events. Additionally, Junior Firefighters go on several team building trip throughout the year. These trips include a summer kick off trip to Lake George at the end of June. The juniors are self funded by their annual Pasta Dinner which occurs in March each year.
