The Green Brook Fire Department has been providing fire protection and rescue services to the residents and visitors to the Township of Green Brook since 1928. The membership consists of 100% volunteers. The Department is seeking dedicated, community minded individuals for essential community service. After joining the Department you will be provided all necessary training and protective clothing by the Township at no charge. Green Brook is a small community with mainly residential homes, some townhome / condominium complexes and a commercial corridor on US Highway 22. The department averages 225- 275 calls a year. Applicants age 18 and above: Firefighter and Firefighter/EMT: responds to fire and/or EMS calls and actively participates in firefighting or EMS duties and training. Applicants age 16 & 17: Junior Member: Age 16-17, responds to fire and/or EMS calls, assists firefighters or EMTs in performance of duties but does not actively engage in firefighting. Prospective Junior or Regular Probationary applicants must live in Green Brook or within 10 minutes of Firehouse #1 or Firehouse #2. The regular probation period is 1 year. In that time frame you must be able to attend and pass a NJ State certified Firefighter 1 Course. The FF 1 course is usually 2 nights a week and 1 day on the weekend for approximately 3.5 months.
