Debusk Volunteer Fire Department
We are an all volunteer organization covering a 17 square mile district and we also respond as mutual aid to our bordering districts. We also operate the only rehab operation in the county. We respond with rehab to search and rescue operations, structure fires (both in the county and within the city limits), recovery operations and large scale events. Our department is family oriented and we work together. We welcome you to come by and see for yourself. | Requirements: To join our department, you must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Firefighters must obtain their state certification within the first year of joining. All members are required to obtain their CPR, first aid, emergency vehicle operations, and other required training. Training is paid for by the department and is offered when available. We also train in house, twice a month. You must attend a minimum of meetings, trainings and emergency dispatches to remain a member of the department. Once your application has been approved by the majority of the department, you will be required to get a drug screen completed, paid for by the department and we will keep your application on file for 30 days. During this time, we will run a background check, MVR report and wait for your results from the drug screen. After everything checks out and you come to the next business meeting, you will be voted on as a probationary member for 90 days.
