The Volunteer Firefighter/EMT may enter burning buildings as part of a fire suppression team, perform ventilation tasks above ground, carry heavy objects and equipment and rescue injured or trapped victims. The Volunteer Firefighter/EMT also responds to requests for pre-hospital emergency medical care. Volunteer firefighters at the Goshen Fire Department respond to various emergencies including fire, rescue, marine, medical and so many other types of emergencies. Our volunteers staff two Class A pumpers, a 24' Fire Boat, a 14' rigid hull inflatable rescue boat, a UTV, and two service trucks. Firefighters are provided with all training to become certified Firefighters, EMTs, and more. Once certified, firefighters are eligible to receive as stipend for each call they respond to as part of the paid-per-call system in the Town of Waterford. Members also receive a stipend for completing certification classes. | Requirements: In order to apply to be a volunteer firefighter you must be 18 years of age or older.
