Volunteer summit stewards protect vulnerable alpine plants by encouraging hikers to walk on solid bedrock above the timberline, answering questions, doing trail work, and participating in research on the summits.

Join the Trail Steward Program and adopt your favorite trail. Stewards clear blowdown, maintain drainages, and do other basic trail maintenance tasks. Their reports help determine where more intensive trail projects are required.

Work with trained ADK trail crew leaders and other volunteers on trail maintenance and reconstruction projects throughout the Adirondacks. ADK provides leadership, group camping gear, tools, transportation from base camp, and food for multi-day projects.

Help seniors with yard work and cleaning tasks to maintain their homes and improve their quality of life.

Assist in the sale and distribution of native plants to promote pollinator health. Volunteers will help set up, manage sales, and provide information to attendees.

Repair Coaches assist attendees in fixing broken items, promoting a culture of repair and reuse. Volunteers should have skills in repairing household items or electronics.
