Village helpers offer a variety of assistance to elderly and disabled individuals who need help around the house. Responsibilities include daily social calls, changing batteries in smoke detectors, picking up groceries, basic home repairs, and taking garbage cans to the street for pickup. Volunteers must be able to pass a background check and be over the age of 16 with parental permission.

Assist members by picking them up from their houses and transporting them to local medical appointments, grocery shopping, the pharmacy, or The Little House for social interaction. This opportunity is flexible, and you can decide when you want to drive. Gas reimbursement may be available, and you must be over the age of 18, possess vehicle insurance, and pass a driving history and background check.

Support our advocacy efforts by helping with letter-writing campaigns, outreach, and representing Yosemite Rivers Alliance at events. Your voice can help mobilize the community for river protection.

Join us for hands-on restoration activities such as tree planting, meadow restoration, and litter cleanups. No experience is needed, just a willingness to help protect our rivers and wildlife habitats.

Customized volunteer experiences for workplaces, schools, and clubs to support large-scale restoration projects. This is a great way to build teamwork while making a positive impact on the environment.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help with animal care, phone support, cleaning, transportation, cage building, paperwork, grant writing, marketing, and fundraising. Volunteers must commit to a predictable schedule and receive initial and ongoing training provided by MLWC and other approved sources.

Help maintain and restore historic buildings and work on special projects for the park. This role is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work and craftsmanship.

Greet visitors at the park entrance, direct them to activities of the day, and answer any questions they may have. This role is essential for enhancing visitor experience.

Interpret the history and operations of the historic roundhouse to visitors, providing engaging and informative experiences. A love for history is essential.

Assist in the safe operation and loading of train cars while interpreting history and operations to visitors. No prior experience with trains or public service is required.

Conduct 45-minute to 1-hour long tours of the Roundhouse and grounds, sharing knowledge about the park's history. A passion for history and communication skills are beneficial.

Volunteer Firefighters are individuals who live and/or work in the community (or nearby) and volunteer their time to serve the community as a fire fighter. Volunteer Firefighters are assigned safety equipment and pagers, and respond from home or work to the scene of emergencies. Volunteer Firefights may progress to driving fire engines and other vehicles. Volunteer fire fighters train on a regular basis with other volunteers from our department and neighboring departments as well as with paid fire fighters. | Requirements: • At least eighteen years old • High school graduate (or equivalent) • Valid California Driver License • Maintain physical conditioning necessary to perform safely and efficiently in emergencies • Meet medical and physical agility standards • Emergency Medical Responder (First Responder) or better. | Categories: Firefighter

CAST members provide a variety of non-emergency services to the department. They bring their unique skills to bear on the needs of the department such as construction, electrical work, Defensible Space Inspections, training, facility maintenance and repair, administration, and many other tasks. | Requirements: Minimum qualifications depend on the job or task being performed. All members must be finger-printed (LiveScan) and pass a basic background check. Some jobs or tasks will require additional minimum qualifications. Intern Firefighters are individuals who are seeking a career in the fire service, have completed or are enrolled in a Fire Academy, and are looking for full time experience in order to improve their opportunities for a career in the fire service. Interns work assigned shifts just as a regular paid fire fighter. They experience life as a paid firefighter, gaining experience, training, and knowledge along the way, and are expected to perform at the same level as a paid fire fighter. Interns are encouraged to further their education, and are required to be actively seeking employment as a firefighter with other departments.
