Our fire company is a 100% volunteer company that serves a suburban/rural area. We are located at 5901 Linglestown Road in Lower Paxton Township, Harrisburg, PA. Our company operates 2 engines, a tower ladder truck, rescue, tanker, mobile cascade (air unit) truck, 2500 gallon water tender, fire police traffic unit, two pick up trucks as well as two duty officer vehicles. We not only respond to our own fire due area, but also respond in a mutual aid capacity to multiple areas in the surrounding townships. We respond to an average of between 400-500 calls per year. | Requirements: The minimum age requirement for our department is 14. We do not require any training to join, as we will provide any in house training required as well as pay for fire department certification courses through local community colleges as well as the PA State Fire Academy. | Categories: Firefighter

Want to challenge yourself and prepare for a career as a firefighter? Colonial Park Fire Company prides itself in the number of our volunteers that become and remain paid firefighters in Pennsylvania and other nearby states. Our commitment to training our staff to be professional and ready to respond to any incident is only limited by the member. We cover the costs of all training, provide free live-in accommodations, uniforms and living stipends based on time spent at the station. Responding to over 800 calls per year, the Colonial Park Fire Company is the perfect place to gain real-world experience as a firefighter and sharpen you skills needed to respond effectively. We cover an area of approximately 11 square miles and 26,000 residents. Our response area consists of two large shopping complexes, six schools, five assisted living facilities, a large hospital and numerous strip malls. We also have three major roadways that run through Colonial Park; The Capital Beltway (Interstate 81 and 83) and US route 22; bringing commuters to and from our response district. The remainder of our area is primarily residential with one large industrial complex and several light industrial parks. The Colonial Park Fire Company is a group of dedicated professional volunteers committed to serving the community of Lower Paxton Township by protecting life, property and the environment through prevention, education and the providing of fire protection service. West Hanover Township Fire Company
We are seeking Live-In Firefighters. Our department averages 450 calls annually. We operate 3 engines and a heavy rescue out of 3 stations. A shared bunk room, and semi private rooms are available. Both male and female applicants are welcome, with separate facilities for both. A well maintained kitchen and dayroom are also available. Company level training is provided on a weekly basis. There are no fundraising requirements. | Requirements: Prior firefighting training is helpful but not required. Hazmat Awareness, NIMS 100,200,700, and 800, and CPR/AED certification are required within 2 months of acceptance into the program.
