This is a volunteer position. Firefighters work alongside EMTs, paramedics and other fire department personnel to provide rescue services, suppress fires, and respond to a multitude of varying requests for services from the community. The fire department will pay for tuition, books and fees to complete training necessary to become a certified Firefighter I and II. Stewards regularly check the parcel of land they’ve agreed to monitor, reporting on wildlife, overuse, erosion, and unwarranted human activity. They play a crucial role in maintaining the health and safety of the land.

Open positions are available for firefighters and EMTs. The department is made up 100% of on-call volunteers who are interested in serving their community. | Requirements: Candidates should be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check. No specific education or work experience is required, only a strong desire to serve the community. Medical and/or fire experience is a plus however. Serve as a docent, staffing the museum during opening hours and providing tours to visitors. Volunteers will share knowledge about the museum's exhibits and the history of Falmouth.

Help manage the Society's social media presence and marketing efforts to increase community engagement and awareness. Volunteers will create content and strategies to promote the Society's mission and events.

Conduct genealogical research to assist individuals and families in discovering their historical roots in Falmouth. Volunteers will utilize various resources to compile comprehensive family histories.

Assist with landscaping tasks such as mowing and tending to flower beds to maintain the museum's grounds. Volunteers will help ensure the outdoor areas are welcoming and well-kept.

Assist in planning and organizing events for the Falmouth Historical Society, including educational programs and community outreach activities. Volunteers will help with logistics, promotion, and execution of events.

Members of the FOAMM Program will be responsible for researching and attending outreach and fundraising events in their area. Volunteers will help educate and inspire the community about marine mammal conservation and assist with MMoME events.

Volunteers will participate in live and dead marine mammal response and data collection, educate the public, perform health assessments, and assist with the transport of animals to rehabilitation centers. A commitment of at least 1 year and the ability to travel up to 1.5 hours from home is required.
