Our department is one of the busiest volunteer departments in the county. We are looking for volunteers to fill the positions of firefighter/EMR, EMT's, and junior firefighter. Our department provide the training needed to obtain these certifications. We currently run around 1,200 calls per year and it continues to increase. Volunteers are on call by use of pagers. They respond directly to emergency scenes or to their closest station. Residency is required to be in District or living in any connecting city, township, or Village. Duty shift volunteers have no residency restrictions, however, they are not on call for emergencies and will not be issued a pager. Duty shift volunteers schedule themselves to work a minimum of 24 hours a month at either of the stations. They may be called in the event of a large incident. Operators are on call and trained to take over pump operations at emergency scenes. They are responsible for maintaining proper water flow and supply.
