We are looking to establish a new program of volunteer staffing of the fire department to provide faster response times to our citizens and visitors. All members receive pay per call from the Village and small number of Paid shifts are available on the weekends. If you are looking to be sponsored through a fire academy we are looking to help support you with potential reimbursement upon 2 years of service to our department and successful completion of state certification. The Garden Homes Fire Protection District is one of the last 100% volunteer fire departments left in Cook County. We are charged with providing Fire and EMS services for the Garden Homes community, as well as the towns of Merrionette Park and Robbins through automatic aid agreements, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.
