Being an Exterior Firefighter means you will be responsible for supporting Interior Firefighters in their fire fighting efforts on the scene. This includes providing ladder stabilization, getting tools and equipment for fire fighting efforts, and other fire ground operations. Although certification is not required for this position, the regional fire training school offers a certificate program for Exterior Firefighters, consisting of attending and completing 85 hours of training over 20 weeks.
