Join us in our pilot project to support pollinators and raise awareness about environmental issues in Pool 2. Volunteers will help plant native seed mixes at designated locations along the riverbank and islands, with all materials provided at no cost.

Help clean and enhance Island 828 for recreational use by paddlers. Volunteers will assist in cleaning sandy beach areas, removing debris, and improving campsite conditions to promote this underutilized resource.

Serve as a board member in roles such as President, Secretary, Treasurer, Website Coordinator, Area Coordinator Facilitator, Training Coordinator, Mentor Facilitator, or Newsletter Coordinator. These positions may require more hours of commitment.

Act as an Area Coordinator in locations such as Eagan, Apple Valley, Mendota Heights, Rosemount, and Hastings. This role involves coordinating activities and communication within the designated area.

Join one of the committees such as Sunshine, Conference, Banquet/Elections, By-Laws, or Fundraising Events. These roles require a few hours of commitment per year.

Assist in transporting Pekingese dogs to foster homes, veterinary appointments, or adoption events. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable handling dogs during transport.

Provide a temporary home for rescued Pekingese dogs, offering care and attention until they are adopted. Responsibilities include addressing behavioral issues, administering medication, and participating in the selection of the dog's permanent home.

Conduct telephone reference checks and personal interviews for potential adopters or volunteers. This role requires strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Assist in behind-the-scenes tasks such as sewing flags, keeping performers hydrated, and cooking for the band. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the success of parades and performances.

Volunteers are needed to serve on various committees, assist with Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD), and help with board positions. This opportunity offers networking, leadership, and professional growth.

Help maintain areas planted with native grasses and wildflowers in highly visible areas. Opportunities include the new Holland Lake Pollinator Garden, the Visitor Center Backyard and Boathouse, and Holland Lake Bay.

As an Adopt-a-Park volunteer, you will be notified first by email when new projects come up that focus on your selected park. Opportunities include picking up trash, maintaining trails, improving park features, and reducing invasive species.

Enjoy the outdoors while assisting park visitors with questions, directions, and providing an extra support measure in case of emergencies. Teams include Ski, Mountain Bike, Greenway & Park Trail, Dog Park, or Equestrian.

Join us as a volunteer to help build a healthy and productive community. Volunteers support programs that provide aid to the needy, help build a vibrant community, and support youth empowerment initiatives.

Board Members meet 6-8 times a year, assist with oversight, and help create the Strategic Plan. They are asked for a 3-year commitment.

Boutique volunteers assist with organizing donations, the boutique, and supplies. Occasionally, they assist clients with shopping in the boutique.

Mailing Team volunteers assist with preparing large mailings for quarterly newsletters, donor contact, and events. They may also help with preparing other correspondence.

Event Volunteers assist with set-up and tear-down at various events, as well as help during events with attendee assistance and general needs. Some Event Volunteers will also assist with staffing information tables at various community events such as church events and Woodbury Days.

Volunteers can serve on various committees, such as Finance, Event Planning, Fundraising, and Outreach. Committees meet 6-8 times a year primarily via Zoom and are asked to make a 1-year commitment.

Client Education Volunteers work closely with Advocate staff, assisting clients with completing their education hours, reviewing knowledge with clients, and organizing and hosting classes. They may interact with clients in person or over the telephone.
