Dewey Fire Company is a 100% volunteer fire and rescue company serving Hellertown and surrounding areas, answering almost 400 calls per year. We welcome new members who want to make a difference in their community. We need volunteers in all areas, including administrative, financial, trades, and especially fire and rescue. No experience is required to become a firefighter, and all of your training and equipment are provided at no cost to you. All you have to bring is the drive to serve. Lower Saucon Fire Rescue
In 2019 the members of Lower Saucon Fire Rescue dedicated over 4,050 hours of responding to emergency calls, training, and performing equipment and station maintenance. We responded to 705 calls. The members of Lower Saucon Fire Rescue are highly trained in multiple areas of emergency response, not just firefighting including vehicle and special vehicle rescue, hazardous materials, emergency medical care, incident command, rope rescue, and water rescue. We operate 3 stations - 3 Engines, 2 Tenders, 1 Heavy Rescue, 2 Brush Trucks, 1 Ladder Tower, 1 Traffic Unit, 2 Command, and 1 Utility truck. The mission of Lower Saucon Fire Rescue is to save lives and protect property through emergency medical service, fire, and rescue response and fire prevention. We respond immediately when any member of our community needs help with professional, effective and compassionate service. The Se-Wy-Co and Southeastern Fire Companies, serving Lower Saucon Township, are proud to announce they have formally merged and are now Lower Saucon Fire Rescue. | Requirements: The only requirement is your desire to help out the community in which you live. We serve a municipality of about 15 square miles and respond to close to 900 calls for service each year. Our township is ,considerably, still growing with multiple shopping centers and mixed residential developments. All training is paid for 100% with no financial commitments from you. As an apprentice firefighter you will learn what you need to know starting with the basics while preparing to to obtain firefighter 1 certification. All training is hands on skills. Also, while under the age of 18, you will be able to participate in other classes and obtain several certifications depending on the age requirements for those classes. | Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age to join as an apprentice firefighter.
