Shackle Island Fire Rescue is looking for new members. 100% volunteer, all training provided. Shackle Island is located in south east Sumner county TN between the cities of Gallatin, Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, and White House. Provide a temporary home for rescued animals, offering them love and care until they are adopted. Fosters are responsible for socializing the animals and observing their behavior and needs.

Volunteers assist with the care of animals at the shelter, including feeding, cleaning, and socializing with the animals. Volunteers must be 18 or accompanied by a guardian if under 18, and must complete a volunteer application and orientation.

Volunteers fulfilling community service hours assist with non-animal contact tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and doing dishes. No training is required, and volunteers under 18 may work without a parent present.

Help maintain the garden at Mount Juliet Library by watering plants during hot summer mornings or evenings. Coordinate with library staff for access to water facilities.

Support the organization by helping with various tasks such as organizing events, assisting with educational programs, and providing general support to the rescue operations.

Assist in providing a safe and loving temporary home for Bullies. Volunteers will be responsible for the day-to-day care, including feeding, exercising, and socializing the dogs until they find permanent homes.

Capture photos and videos for promotional and documentation purposes. Volunteers must attend an orientation session to understand the organization's needs and policies.

Work with the Events Director on logistics, scheduling, and planning fundraisers. Volunteers will assist at events as needed and must attend an orientation session.

Assist with grooming, cleaning stalls, and caring for foster horses. Volunteers must attend a brief orientation session and read the provided handbook to understand safety rules and policies.

Assist with calling references, verifying applicant information, and helping adopters match with horses. Volunteers will also conduct post-adoption follow-ups.

Manage ongoing fundraising opportunities for East C.A.N. This role involves organizing and overseeing fundraising events and initiatives.

Coordinate the monthly management of East C.A.N.'s storage facility. This role involves organizing and maintaining inventory.

Engage in ongoing public relations activities to promote East C.A.N.'s events and initiatives. Volunteers will help spread awareness and attract more participants.

Periodically transport animals to and from veterinary appointments. Volunteers must be comfortable handling animals and have a valid driver's license.

Assist in working shifts at various events organized by East C.A.N. Volunteers are needed periodically to help with event setup, management, and breakdown.

Periodically write thank you notes to donors and supporters of East C.A.N. This role requires good writing skills and attention to detail.

Assist with the weekly delivery and pick-up of donations for East C.A.N. Volunteers must be able to drive and handle physical tasks.

Manage the daily influx of emails in East C.A.N.'s inbox. This role requires organizational skills and the ability to respond promptly to inquiries.

Assist East C.A.N. by writing grant proposals to secure funding. This ongoing role requires strong writing and research skills.
