Loudoun County is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and experienced senior-level professional to lead as the Systemwide Fire Chief (Chief). Fire and Rescue services in Loudoun County are provided through the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS) managed by the Systemwide Fire Chief, which includes nearly 800 full-time employees and approximately 1,300 active administrative and operational volunteer personnel. The current Chief is retiring after serving in the Department since 2014 and as Chief since 2018. The Chief will execute directives from the County Board of Supervisors (BOS) and County Administration, ensuring that service delivery and projects align with their goals and priorities. This will include planning and managing the Combination System, a component of which is the Department’s budget, preparing annual budget proposals, and monitoring expenditures to ensure they do not exceed allocated funds. The Chief will work with the Career Department and the volunteer corporations to identify goals, objectives, and performance measures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the Combination System’s performance. The next Chief will oversee the System, which includes 21 stations, some of which are volunteer owned, providing a full range of emergency and non-emergency responses to the citizens of Loudoun County and seven incorporated towns.
