The Williamson County Fire Protection District (W.C.F.P.D.) consists of 7 fire stations through out Williamson County. The district is managed by a full time paid Chief, 3 Career Firefighters and a Secretary. The district has a wide variety of specialized equipment and well equipped trained paid-on-call members. The district is equipped for most emergencies that may arise with 8 engines, 7 tenders with 2,200 gallons of water each, 7 brush trucks, and 50 Paid On Call firefighters. Join the Pollinator Team to maintain and develop areas such as the Prairie Rehab Project and Pollinator Demonstration Garden. Volunteers meet at the Harmony Trail parking lot on Fridays from March through September.

Assist with sales at the Woodland Gift Shop located in the new Visitor Center. Volunteers are expected to commit to at least a half day per week or one weekend day per month.

Work on trails, patrol Refuge roads, monitor wildlife habitats, greet visitors, and assist with educational programs. Volunteers can join workday projects and special events.

Assist in promoting volunteerism and community service through local media sources such as Arrow News. Volunteers will work to inform, unite, and promote the Johnston City community.
