Join Emily at the library on Tuesday afternoons through August 12th, from 1 PM - 3 PM, for a variety of activities to give back to the library and our community. Each week features a different project, and teens are encouraged to bring their own ideas for collaboration.

Develop and present an arts or crafts program at the library. Volunteers are encouraged to outline a proposal detailing the art or craft program they could offer to the community.

Teens and adults can sign up to help at the library on a limited or regular basis by filling out a Volunteer Application. Volunteers may be called upon for various tasks as needed by the library.

Help develop the membership process and expand the Rush Historical Society's membership in the town. Volunteers will work under the guidance of the Membership Committee Chair.

Assist in planning programs for the society's membership and the public, including in-person events with outside speakers or virtual programs. Volunteers will support the Program Chair in organizing these events.

Assist the Town Historian in planning the annual tree lighting, caroling, and refreshments at the Udicious Pavilion in December. Volunteers will help organize and execute the event.

Help plan publicity for Rush Historical Society events and programs, potentially developing a semi-annual newsletter and other outreach materials. Volunteers will work with the Publicity Chair to enhance the society's visibility.

Assist in maintaining content for the society's Facebook and Instagram sites and help manage the website using the Wix platform. Volunteers will work with the Social Media Chair to ensure consistent and engaging online presence.

Minimizes fire damage by responding to alarms; driving and operating equipment; combating and extinguishing fires; rescuing and reviving people. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying supervisor of needed repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Volunteers will assist in the operation of the food pantry, helping to distribute food to those in need. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, organizing food items, and assisting clients during pantry hours.

Keeping the sanctuary clubhouse and grounds usable is an ongoing project. Tasks include keeping the mower running, fixing a broken doorknob, and scheduling chimney inspections and gutter cleanings.

Help maintain the health and resilience of the important ecosystems living at the BANC sanctuary. Invasive plants and animals threaten nature’s balance and are a constant and growing challenge.

Help keep the website up-to-date and useful for anyone looking for information. Assist in informing members and the larger community about upcoming events and other happenings.

Help recruit knowledgeable speakers, organize field trips, plan social events, and host gatherings. The Program Committee needs your ideas and energy to keep BANC’s programs of the highest quality possible.

The Executive Council oversees the day-to-day operations of BANC. It sets policies and the budget. Become an officer or trustee to help steer BANC into the future.
