Howard Volunteer Fire Company seeks volunteers for all aspects of running the company. From fundraising help (Punkin Chunkin Fall Fest, chicken BBQ's, catering in our event venue, selling tickets for and staffing annual gun/cash raffle, etc.), through admin, financial, carpentry, electrical, have, plumbing, engineering to firefighting and EMS. The Pleasant Gap Fire Company provides fire, rescue, and EMS services to communities in and around Pleasant Gap and Bellefonte PA. The Live In program has been established for about eight years and provide opportunities to students or others interested. Semi private dorm style rooms are available, the station has full amenities including a complete kitchen. Live in candidates are expected to provide 32 hours per week of availability to assist with EMS coverage, in return the live in candidate lives rent free at the fire house. Assist in planning and organizing the PNPS Annual Meeting, which involves arranging for speakers and coordinating a location. This opportunity is ideal for those interested in event planning and native plant advocacy.
