On fire calls, our firefighters are prepared with personal protective equipment, communications equipment, thermal imaging equipment, etc. All of this equipment combined with the proper training allows our firefighters to safely and effectively perform their duties in emergency situations. Not only will you contain fire situations and get to assist in emergency medical calls, but you will also mitigate automobile accidents and utility emergencies. You may help in flooding situations, mass casualty incidentts and other emergencys. If you are someone who is interested in serving the Highland Falls Fire Department, who is interested in making new friends and lifetime bonds, or just looking to make a meaningful difference in the community, then this job may be for you. Classroom and hands on training are required to become a firefighter. And all of the training is provided free. | Requirements: What does it take to become a volunteer? 1. You must be at least 16 years of age to be a Jr Member, or 18 years of age to be an Active Member 2. You must be in good health.
