Guardians play a critical role in the success of Honor Flight trips, assisting veterans during their journey to Washington D.C. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and comfort of the veterans, helping them navigate the trip, and providing companionship throughout the experience.

The Program Leader plays an integral role within GiGi’s Playhouse Programs, facilitating skill development activities and connecting with families. Advanced education or training in developmental therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavioral therapy, social work, special education, speech-language therapy, music, dance, art, or a related field is preferred.

Program Volunteers assist the program leader and are needed based on the size and type of program. A general knowledge of Down syndrome is required, which can be gained at the volunteer orientation.

This exciting opportunity allows you to help individuals with Down syndrome learn to read or improve their math skills. Tutors are asked to commit to one session (10 weeks) and will work directly with the family of the child they are tutoring to schedule weekly sessions.

Responsibilities include guiding patients and visitors to their destinations, assisting with clerical work, or working in hospital gift shops.

Support the maintenance and upkeep of the rehabilitation center's facilities. Tasks may include cleaning, repairs, and landscaping.

Engage with the community through educational programs about raptors and conservation efforts. Volunteers will present information to schools and community groups.

Assist in the care and rehabilitation of injured raptors, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health. Volunteers will work closely with experienced staff to ensure the well-being of the birds.

Participate in the rescue and transportation of injured raptors to the rehabilitation center. Volunteers must be able to handle birds safely and communicate effectively with the public.

Hospice volunteers engage with patients and their families during challenging times by providing bereavement support, caregiver relief, companionship visits, and other supportive duties. This role offers a meaningful experience in providing comfort and support.

Volunteers at The Old Fort assist with a variety of tasks including programming, maintenance, and event support. Volunteers are required to fill out a general Volunteer Form to apply.
