The Lowell Area Fire Department provides fire and ems services to the residents of the City of Lowell, Lowell Township, and Vergennes Township. Covering nearly 17,000 people over 60sq miles, we respond to nearly 900 calls for emergency services a year. Participates in monthly training, attends classes in firefighting, emergency medical, hazardous materials, and related subjects. Operates radios and other communications equipment. Maintains fire equipment, apparatus and facilities. Join us on a Work Day to help maintain the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail. Tasks include painting, cutting brush, trash removal, and trimming trees. Volunteers should wear work clothes and bring gloves, bug spray, sunscreen, water, and any helpful equipment.
