Make minor repairs to park buildings, picnic tables, and other facilities to ensure safety and usability.

Conduct special programs and lead guided tours of historic facilities within the park.

Assist in maintaining park trails by trimming overgrowth, removing debris, and constructing erosion controls.

Interpret astronomy for night programs, identifying planets and constellations for park visitors.

Provide leadership and technical assistance to volunteer groups working to improve trails in the park.

Conduct specialized programs and nature hikes, interpreting natural resources for park visitors.

Provide information to visitors, operate radio communications, and register campers.

Schedule tours and nature programs, compose letters, and provide information to the public about park facilities.

Perform custodial maintenance and provide information to visitors at parking and public use areas.

Lead interpretive hikes and share expertise in birding and bird habitats with groups.

Mow grass and trim weeds to help maintain the park's natural beauty and accessibility for visitors.

Coordinate volunteer schedules, maintain records, and promote the volunteer program within the park.

Assist in organizing and promoting arts events such as SwanFest and other community arts initiatives. Volunteers will help with event setup, coordination, and provide support to artists and performers.

Richlands Vol. Rescue Squad Inc (RVRS) was established in 1972. RVRS is the Basic Life Support 911 ambulance service and medium rescue provider for the Town of Richlands, and the greater northwest region of Onslow County, North Carolina. We have a large response district of 380 square miles stretching from the outskirts of Jacksonville, North Carolina too the Duplin and Jones County lines. We are a Non-profit 501c3 corporation, who is made up of highly trained and dedicated volunteers. Onslow County Emergency Services has two-part time Fire/Rescue Emergency Responders who operate out of our building during the normal business week. Our junior Membership Program really took off in late 2012 and have been very successful, with most of our juniors moving to general membership and officers inside our organization as well as having successful careers in Fire/Rescue or EMS organizations around the country. We pride ourselves with offering the youth of our area with a safe environment to better themselves while still helping the community and citizens of Onslow County. Your children will learn valuable training in both the Rescue and EMS fields as basic knowledge and training to help them succeed in life. | Requirements: Minimum of 14 Years Old.
