The Fair Grove Fire Department is located in Thomasville North Carolina within the Piedmont Region of the state. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team of volunteer fire and rescue personnel. We respond to an average of 1,100 calls for service each year and train to the specifications set by the North Carolina Department of Insurance Fire Training Division. We are looking for motivated people that wants to help their community by being a volunteer firefighter. We have a Jr. Firefighter program from age 14-17 and a firefighter program starting at age 18. Assist with the daily care of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing companionship. Volunteers will also help with maintaining the sanctuary grounds and facilities.

Help distribute cat and dog food to underserved communities as part of the 'Share the Warmth' initiative. Volunteers may also assist with collecting leashes, collars, and educational handouts.

On delivery days, volunteers assist in loading the inventory to take to the children. Once at the delivery location, volunteers will assemble the beds in the child’s room and make the beds. Volunteers may also read one of the new books to the children once the beds have been assembled.

Staging duties involve pulling all of the needed inventory for upcoming deliveries. This ensures that on delivery day, volunteers can quickly load and transport items to the children. Warehouse training is required.

Support the creation of a food forest at Forest Park Elementary's teaching garden by assisting with planting and maintaining native plants and perennials. Volunteers will help in creating a sustainable ecosystem that benefits the school and local community.

On bed build days, volunteers work to assemble beds into 'bed kits'. This process makes it easier and quicker to assemble in the homes during delivery days.

Assist with organizing and managing community events and fundraisers to support animal welfare initiatives. Volunteers will engage with the public and help promote the organization's mission.

Quality Control takes place after a bed build day. Volunteers check if the bed kits have the correct amount of screws and if they are tightened correctly, ensuring success for the delivery teams. Warehouse training is required.

Deliver straw to families in need to provide bedding for their dogs. Volunteers will coordinate with the organization to ensure timely and efficient delivery to various locations.

Assist in building chain link kennel systems for families with chained dogs in under-served neighborhoods. Volunteers will work alongside family members to construct safe and secure enclosures for pets.
