The Charlestown Fire District (Rhode Island) is currently looking for Junior Fire Fighters age 14-18 years old. CFD has two (s) stations, Cross Mills and Charlestown Richmond stations. We are all volunteers that when a call for service is generated. All non officers report to their respective stations to don turn out gear, follow instructions as to what apparatus is being dispatched and safety is always a top priority. Support the operation of farmers markets by helping with setup, customer service, and sales. Volunteers will engage with the community to promote local produce and small food businesses.

Help amplify awareness of NSP events by sharing concert announcements on social media and email lists. Volunteers will also assist with family outreach and clerical work.

Assist with the organization and execution of the LGBTQ+ Bike Summer Camp. Responsibilities include helping with bike and helmet distribution, guiding participants, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all attendees.

Volunteers will help establish mobile charging stations for at-risk citizens needing to recharge backup batteries in electric-powered medical devices. This involves working with utilities, power generation companies, and community-based organizations.

Volunteers will assist in developing a community-based program encouraging neighbors with backup generators to support those relying on electric-powered medical equipment during power outages. This involves collaboration with local health departments and patient advocacy organizations.

I am writing to you regarding your interest in becoming a first responder in the town of West Greenwich. No experience or previous training is required. If you choose to become an active member of the Lake Mishnock FD, The department will provide you with the training necessary to begin serving the community. Lake Mishnock Fire Depart,emt has trained Emt's Cardiac and Firefighters to help you with your career. The pride and satisfaction that comes with being a volunteer is something that is not easy to explain but hopefully you will join us and experience it for yourself. Training is normally held on Tuesday evenings at 6 PM at the station, with the exception of the second Tuesday of the month, which is our monthly meeting (7PM).
