Volunteers are needed to donate their time to support the efforts of the Lakeside Animal Sanctuary & Training Resort. Responsibilities may include assisting with the care of adoptable dogs and supporting the organization in various activities.

This is a volunteer, unpaid position. Our volunteer firefighters protect the community in a wide range of emergency situations. The Volunteer Firefighter may be called upon to deliver fire suppression, emergency medical assistance, rescue, hazardous material responses, and public education to the citizens of China Spring & Bosqueville . Example of Duties Essential Functions: Responds to fire alarms and extinguishes fire Responds to calls for medical assists Responds to and renders assistance in emergency cases; Cleans and inspects equipment and apparatus after returning from a fire; Inspects equipment and apparatus and notifies chain of command of any defects; Makes minor repairs to equipment and apparatus, performs routine preventative maintenance tasks, and keeps records of such action; Keeps fire station, equipment and grounds in a clean and orderly condition; Participates in training activities and instruction sessions; Acquires and retains a thorough knowledge of the City, including streets, buildings, water supply, unusual hazards and related items; Performs various public information or education tasks; Enters inspection, training and (on occasion) and fire calls into the records management system Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with Department policies and procedures May respond to emergency calls for specialized service such as hazardous materials, confined spaces rescue, extrication and technical rescues that include high angle, below grade, swift water, trench and collapse rescues; May respond to non-emergency calls providing a wide rang of public service activities May be assigned other duties by Fire Administration Staff | Requirements: Minimum Qualifications 1. Be at least 16 years of age for Junior; 18 years of age for regular membership 2. Be of good moral character 3. Have a valid Texas Drivers License 4. Must live within our coverage area 5. Volunteers will assist in providing a safe environment for students, participate in recreational activities, and support educational programs. They will also help with community dinners and tutoring sessions.

Participate in open volunteer days every Sunday, engaging in basic cleaning tasks and respectful interaction with rescued animals. Volunteers must wear appropriate clothing and covered shoes, and bring a signed liability waiver.

Become a regular volunteer, either weekly or twice monthly, to help maintain a safe and clean environment for the animals. Duties include cleaning stalls, feeding animals, and other farm-related tasks.
