Mid-County Fire Prot Dist
The MCFPD Intern Program is a 2 year non-paid internship.During the 2 year's, the intern is assigned to a working shift and will attend Firefighter 1&2 training as well as EMT-B at no cost to the intern. Firefighter 1&2 certification through Missouri Division of Fire Safety and is IFSAC certified. EMT-B is NREMT certified. Not only does the intern receive free professional level training, they will also receive 2 years of on the job training and experience. Currently, our intern program has an 85% hiring rate. Housing is also provided for interns not from the area. The Mid-County FPD is 220 sq miles located in the Lake Ozark area of Missouri 2.5 hours west of St. Louis and 2.5 hours south east of Kansas City. The MCFPD has 7 engine house, 5 volunteer and 2 career with 2 fire boats docked on the Lake of the Ozarks responding to urban, rural and marine emergencies. Last year the MCFPD responded to 2100 incidents including basic EMS responses assisting local EMS service. | Requirements: 18 years old, High School Diploma, Background check.
