The Mid America Teen Community Emergency Response Team is an advanced community training program that teaches all citizens, who are at least 12 years and older, to assist their families and emergency services in the event of an emergency and or natural disaster before professional first responders arrive. Our goal is to train students how to respond to any emergency situation effectively and efficiently, without placing themselves in unnecessary danger. Some of the knowledge taught contains how to handle most emergency situations, including treating the medical killers and providing medical aid, managing utilities and putting out small fires, searching for and rescuing victims safely, assisting people with special and functional needs, preparing for acts of terrorism, and collecting disaster intelligence to support first responder efforts. | Requirements: Individuals must be at least 18 years old and should live in the St. Louis, Missouri or surrounding area. Must have completed the FEMA G-317 CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Basic Training Course. Must have completed the CERT Train-the-Trainer course in person or E428 through EMI. You will need to complete the TEEN CERT Train-the-Trainer course through the Mid America Teen Community Emergency Response Team.
