The New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department is looking for new members to join the Fire Department. The New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department recently have lost several long term members due to retirements. The Department is looking for fill the ranks with new members with a interests in learning as well as training to become a Firefighter. The NAVFD provides in-house training for all of our members with outside agencies such as the MA Firefighting Academy providing classes from the the Fire Academy for any Fire Department within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. There also is Medical training that we will provide to the members that wish to join the Fire Department. If a person wants to join the Fire Department but not in the capacity of a Firefighter, we at the New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department have other positions for anyone, we have Members on the Department that provide support in several areas, such as help with IT support with the Department's computer, radio's and other tasks. Also have members that help with community outreach for the Fire Department, fundraising etc. So there is a role for everyone that would like to be a part of the New Ashford Volunteer Fire Department. Welcome the public to WAM performances by passing out programs, scanning tickets, assisting people to their seats, and answering questions about WAM Theatre.

Support visiting WAM artists by driving them to and from the train or bus station, offering housing during productions, and cooking for volunteer-led tech dinners.

Ensure everyone is welcomed at WAM by identifying and reducing barriers to accessing theatre, educating staff and volunteers on accessibility issues, and recommending improvements.

Help make WAM events successful by tabling at festivals, organizing volunteer appreciation events, and assisting with the annual gala.

Assist in spreading the word about WAM Theatre by putting up posters, giving out postcards, and writing thank you notes to donors and volunteers.

Participate in research projects and advocacy efforts to protect the Hoosic River and its wetlands. Volunteers will help gather data and support initiatives to influence environmental policy.

Support the development and delivery of educational programs about the Hoosic River and its watershed. Volunteers will work with educators and students to promote environmental awareness.

Assist in removing trash and debris from the Hoosic River to help maintain a clean and healthy environment. Volunteers will work in teams to cover various sections of the river.

Assist with the care and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal health.

Assist in organizing and facilitating community events and programs at the library. Volunteers will help set up events, engage with attendees, and promote library resources.

Participate in the transport of a Pyr in your regional area of the NEPR territory. Mileage is tax deductible as a donation to NEPR.
