EMTs are also responsible for maintaining and stocking EMS equipment as well as writing patient care reports. No prior experience? No problem. Maryland EMT training is provided for free through the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. Graduates of the program gradate as a Nationally Registered EMT which is what many career fire departments look for when they are hiring. Are you an EMT in another state but looking for a place to get more experience? Beltsville has to EMS units that respond to almost five thousand calls per year.
