Edgewood Vol Fire Dept
Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department is looking for new members. There are expectations and requirements of membership as well as training necessary to become a volunteer fire fighter or EMT. The demands are great, both physically and mentally. However, the Officers of the department will do what ever we can to help you to be successful and meet your goal. Please note that while most fire training is at little to no cost and provided by the department when possible, EMS training does typically have an initial up-front cost although in some cases these costs may be reimbursed by the department. Many of the requirements are State of Indiana rules and regulations, so there is very little flexibility the department has to work around them. All fire and EMS training is designed to meet any applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations. Many fire and EMS certifications are subject to periodic renewal, and the requirements for renewal are set by the State of Indiana. In addition, there are requirements for annual training that must be completed. Again, thank you for your interest in joining the department. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the officers. | Requirements: Certified or willing to obtain certification as an Indiana Firefighter I/II (240 hours) Certified or willing to obtain certification as an Indiana EMT-B Current certification in FEMA IS-100, 200, 700 and 800 series. Valid driver's license Drivers must have 40 hours a year of drivers training Minimum of 24 hours/month station duty People with knowledge of diesel vehicle maintenance are welcome to apply | Categories: Junior Members, Department Support, Other, EMT, Fundraising, Firefighter
