Assist with moving tasks, ensuring careful handling of items and supporting the team in providing efficient moving services. Volunteers will work alongside others to encourage teamwork and positive attitudes.

Support the culinary team in preparing meals, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, and assisting with food service. Volunteers will help ensure that meals are nutritious and well-prepared for students and staff.

Under the direction of the Battalion Chief or Deputy Chief, this classification is responsible for performing, directing, and supervising activities of the fire station on an assigned Squad/Shift including fire suppression, emergency rescue, inspection, investigation, training and support functions. Qualified Fire Captains may temporarily work out of classification in the capacity as Battalion Chief. Fire Captains, along with their squad responsibilities, may be assigned to perform specialized administrative duties in support of a Department Division or Function including, but not limited to, Training, Operations, Administration, Support Services or Fire Prevention. This is the first full supervisory class within the classification of firefighters. The Fire Captain is responsible for direct supervision of firefighters. This position may also be assigned specialized administrative staff duties at the Fire Station. The Firefighter performs a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled duties involving fire suppression, emergency response, protection of life and property, fire prevention, and other related activities. Work is performed under close to general supervision depending upon the complexity of the task and the skills of the incumbent. This classification may provide limited work direction to less experienced employees and may temporarily act as a Fire Captain. The incumbent is required to complete a formal training program and subsequently assigned to a fire suppression squad. The incumbent is trained on various skill sets and application of equipment used in firefighting, rescue, salvage, emergency medical services, operation of fire apparatus, and equipment, public education, fire prevention, inspections and investigations. An incumbent in this classification is distinguished from those in the classification of Fire Captain in that the latter is a fire line supervisor. Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to the following:  Respond to fire, emergency medical calls, and other emergency alarms and public service calls as a member of a fire suppression company.  Perform primary and secondary search procedures for fire and disaster victims. The support volunteer positions are designed to provide individuals within the community an opportunity to participate in the volunteer fire department but are unable, for any number of reasons, to serve as firefighters. It is also a way for the Uintah City Fire Department to utilize those individuals within the community that possess special non-emergency skills that may be of benefit to the department. As a department, we have become more flexible to parallel the many talents of individuals in our community. The Support Volunteer assists and supports fire department volunteers in non-firefighting duties. Examples of such duties could include, but are not limited to: Grant Writing Fundraising Campaigns Logistic Support Fire Station Maintenance Clerical Support Apparatus and Equipment Maintenance Photography Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Welding, Concrete Community Outreach Copy Writer / Social Media Marketing These examples are not limited to the above – the key is that the position should be beneficial to the specific needs of the Uintah Fire Department, and are within the experience and skills of the individual. As a Welcome Baby Volunteer, you will support new families by providing resources and guidance to ensure a healthy start for babies. Volunteers engage with families through visits and educational materials to promote child development and parental support.

Assist in providing outreach and crisis services on the streets to youth in Ogden, Cedar City, St. George, and surrounding communities. Volunteers help in engaging with youth and providing immediate support and resources.
