Chelan County Fire District # 3 is currently accepting volunteer applications for our Recruit Academy scheduled for September 2022. Chelan County Fire Protection District #3 was established to provide fire protection services to the rural community surrounding the City of Leavenworth. In 2012 the fire district, by a vote of the community, annexed Leavenworth deleting those fire protection borders. Today Fire District #3 is a combination fire department responsible for protecting almost 30 square miles and over a billion dollars in assets. Assist with maintaining and enhancing the natural landscape of Tierra Learning Center. Volunteers will engage in activities such as planting, weeding, and trail maintenance to support the center's commitment to environmental stewardship.

Volunteers are needed to assist with cleaning stalls and paddocks, preparing hay and grain, washing and filling water buckets, and grooming and walking minis for those with horse experience. This role is vital in maintaining the well-being of the horses at the sanctuary.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the annual Hispanic Academic Achievers Program event. Responsibilities include event setup, coordination, and support to ensure the program runs smoothly. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and support Hispanic students in their educational journey.

Engage in a variety of projects including outreach, social media, education, photography, and newsletter/blog creation. Volunteers provide administrative support as needed.

Participate in fundraising, educational, and adoption events primarily from March through September in Lewis County. Volunteers help with setting up and managing event tables.

Provide support in booking, accounting, program development, and potentially serving as a board member. Volunteers assist in the administrative operations of the organization.

Volunteers are needed for the June 18th spay and neuter event. Responsibilities include assisting with event setup, registration, and supporting veterinary staff.

Assist Kitty Kat Haven remotely by participating in virtual events and helping with online tasks. This opportunity is open to individuals who do not reside in Washington.

Assist with sweeping, sanitizing, scooping litter, watering, and basic housekeeping chores in the shelter. Volunteers help maintain a clean and safe environment for the cats.

Foster volunteers provide temporary homes for Greyhounds, helping them adjust to home life and evaluating their personalities to find suitable permanent homes. Responsibilities include daily care, feeding, and socialization of the Greyhounds.

Volunteers play a crucial role in our organization by providing socialization to our dogs and assisting with their care. Responsibilities include playing with puppies and dogs in training, cleaning and maintaining the grounds and facilities, and washing, feeding, and watering the dogs.
