The Leonia Fire Department began in 1898 and has been the backbone of the borough for over 125 years. The LFD has responded to dozens of fires and saved countless lives over that span and does much more in the community than responding to emergencies. We support and participate in all Leonia events in an effort to connect with the community and perform public outreach to potential volunteers and also children to educate them on fire safety and the fire service. | Requirements: Volunteers must be over 18 years old, live within 5 miles of Leonia borough limits, and submit for background and physical screening. Upon being accepted by the LFD Member Committee, you will be confirmed by the Mayor and Council.
