Firefighters will be trained in extrication, emergency medical response (BLS), fire apparatus operation and firefighting. Training consists of as little as 2, 1.5 hour training meetings per month. For those interested in more training, multiple training opportunities are available weekly as well as credentialed firefighter certifications, CPR, and apparatus operation. All gear is provided free of charge, and most training is hands-on lead by certified firefighters and instructors. | Requirements: The requirements to be a firefighter are to be in good health with no felony criminal record and live in or near Lillian, Al. For those who live outside of the Lillian, Al, the department has bunkhouses available for daily and overnight accommodations to run calls.
