Lillian Volunteer Fire Department is recruiting new members! The positions available are firefighter and department support. Firefighters will be trained in extrication, emergency medical response (BLS), fire apparatus operation and firefighting. Training consists of as little as 2, 1.5 hour training meetings per month. For those interested in more training, multiple training opportunities are available weekly as well as credentialed firefighter certifications, CPR, and apparatus operation. All gear is provided free of charge, and most training is hands-on lead by certified firefighters and instructors. | Requirements: The requirements to be a firefighter are to be in good health with no felony criminal record and live in or near Lillian, Al. For those who live outside of the Lillian, Al, the department has bunkhouses available for daily and overnight accommodations to run calls. Volunteers assist with the care and companionship of horses and farm animals, supporting the girls in learning essential life skills. Responsibilities include helping with daily farm tasks, engaging with the girls, and contributing to a safe and nurturing environment.

High school students can volunteer as Project Formal Ambassadors, earning community service hours by promoting the initiative and assisting with events. Ambassadors will help spread awareness and support for the project.

Provide a temporary home for rescued dogs, offering food, security, and love while ECGRR covers pre-approved medical treatments. Volunteers must reside in the Florida Panhandle area.

Assist with transporting dogs to vets, shelters, or new homes. Volunteers must reside in the Florida Panhandle area and be available on occasion for transport duties.

Assist in providing daily care for senior dogs, ensuring they have food, shelter, and companionship. Volunteers will help with feeding, cleaning, and providing emotional support to the dogs.

Stay in touch with shelters and animal control facilities to evaluate potential intakes and ensure no strays are missed. This hands-on role requires visiting shelters in the Florida Panhandle area.

Engage with followers on Facebook, respond to inquiries, and post items of interest. This role can be performed from anywhere.

Join SWAG as a volunteer to support survivor support, mentorship, education, and advocacy initiatives. Volunteers will play a crucial role in empowering women and girls, breaking down barriers, and fostering a safer, more equal future.
