The Lincoln Fire Department is a combination department with 3 career members per shift and 1 call firefighter. The call firefighter position is a paid, scheduled shift nights and weekends. The Call Firefighter must be an EMT with ambulance experience and firefighter I/II certified. Candidates should expect to work at least a shift a week and be responsible for ambulance transports and fire response in an engine or ladder. After orientation and training, Accountability Partners volunteer about an hour a week to collaborate with program participants on goal-setting exercises and work together towards achieving those goals over the next twelve months.

Assist at the Market Manager’s tent from end of May to end of October. Tasks include greeting customers, keeping attendance, answering questions, assisting with SNAP transactions, and supporting market setup and breakdown.

Caring for Children needs 10 high school student volunteers at the Wrapping Party on Sunday, December 14th, from 11:30 am to 4 pm at the Lexington High School Field House. Volunteers will greet sponsors, assist with gift bag handling, and support the check-in process with the Caring for Children Staff.

Assist in organizing and running the annual Native Plant Sale, one of the largest in New England. Tasks include unloading plant deliveries, sorting and pricing pots, directing traffic, and assisting customers.

Participate in community stewardship projects to support biodiversity. Activities may include installing native plantings, tending existing ones, and removing invasive plants.

Help spread the word about Grow Native Massachusetts by staffing an outreach table at community events, fairs, or festivals.

Join other volunteers on Wednesday mornings to prepare Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches to be delivered to Middlesex Community College and distributed to students facing food insecurity. Volunteers are required to bring and wear their own masks and maintain social distancing according to Covid protocols.

Join other volunteers on Thursday mornings to prepare bagged lunches to be delivered to the Community Day Center of Waltham, MA. Volunteer opportunities include grocery shopping, lunch preparation, and delivering lunches to Waltham.

Assist refugees and asylum seekers by providing transportation to appointments, classes, and other essential activities. Volunteers will help clients navigate their new environment and access necessary services.

Serve as a mentor and support person for new volunteers, helping them engage with refugee families. Family leads provide guidance and build lasting relationships with both volunteers and clients.

Each spring and fall, the Publicity Coordinator will publicize CLC's walks and expand the organization's ability to promote these and other activities. This role involves developing and implementing marketing strategies.
