Assist in the daily operations of the farm, including feeding and caring for rescued farm animals, maintaining the sanctuary grounds, and helping with visitor interactions. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the animals and enhancing the visitor experience.

Firefighters respond to fire and rescue emergency incidents independently or under direction of department officers. Firefighters with First Responder (EMR) training also respond to medical emergencies. Department personnel are responsible for meeting training attendance requirements and all personnel assist in maintaining stations, apparatus, and equipment in a ready state. | Requirements: Applicants must pass a background check and interview process to join the department. After joining members must complete basic training requirements prior to responding to incidents, and a 6-month probationary period to be cleared for full duty. Waivers for the basic training program may be granted to personnel with previous certifications. Department members must maintain an average training requirement of 6 hours per month. The Holts Summit Fire Protection District is looking for persons interested in serving our community! We are always in need of individuals willing to fill any roll with the department. We provide all the training, you just need a willingness to work as part of a team to serve the citizens within our fire protection district. You can serve as a firefighter, first responder, a member of our auxilliary, or (if under the age of 18) serve as part of our explorer program. If you are interested in learning to become a firefighter we would love to speak with you, but there are also many support roles available for those willing to volunteer but not wanting to be directly involved in firefighting operations.
