We are always looking for Volunteers to protect the Beautiful Village of Lowellville. We are seeking for those wanting to be (or already are) Firefighters, EMT's, Medics, and Department support such as our Womens Axillary. Calls are on a voluntary basis, drills are weekly every Tuesday night. | Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a high school diploma or the equivalent, and hold a valid drivers license, unless enrolling in cadet program. Cadets must be 16 years of age, have or be working towards their drivers license. All candidates are required to pass written and physical exams, drug screenings and background checks. Must demonstrate, or be willing to learn strong decision-making skills, dependability and bravery. Must be able to pass a physical, drug test, and background test. Must be willing to attend firefighter classes, Medical classes Must live in Lowellville or within the radius permited by local ordinance. Firefighters must be willing to attend Minimum of firefighter level I classes (aproximately 156 hours), Medical applicants must be willing to attend Minimum EMT classes (approximately 150 hours) All physicals, education, etc will be covered by Department. All Department members and support are to attend meetings, fire calls, fundraisers, public functions, public fire prevention educations throughout the village, Etc. The Western Reserve Joint Fire Department located in the Village of Poland and Poland Township in Ohio is looking for new Firefighters and EMS providers to join our ranks. We are a combination of three stations, one located in the Village of Poland, and two in Poland Township serving our residents as a paid per call Fire/EMS department. Our ranks currently include personnel trained to the following certification levels Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Fire Instructor, EMS Instructor, EMR, EMT, and Paramedic. Along with these certifications most members hold multiple other training certifications like Ice Rescue, Rope Rescue. Trench Rescue, Gas and oil field response, and confined space rescue. Positions are also available for those individuals who already have certifications but live further away. The District pays for all training for new firefighters and aggressively promotes additional training for all personnel. The District employs personnel on a scheduled hourly basis (must have EMS certification) or on a call-back basis. In other words, personnel do not have to work shifts and may respond to calls from home or another place of employment. All of our personnel are part-time. There are no full-time suppression personnel. Our personnel include individuals who are career firefighters in other departments, students at universities or in the trades, teachers, engineers, law enforcement, plumbers, electricians, and retirees just to name a few. We actively recruit people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Our personnel are our greatest asset and we consciously strive to recruit and retain talented and motivated people. | Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Valid Drivers License If no certification, the candidate must live within a reasonable distance for the District to pay for your schooling/education. If the candidate resides away from the District so that they are only able to work shifts, the employee must have EMS and/or fire certification (fire only certification has extremely limited access to shift work).
