Adoption counselors screen prospective adopters, fill out necessary paperwork, and finalize adoptions. They perform the same duties as adoption shift volunteers but with additional responsibilities.

Adoption shift volunteers open the shelter to the public, assist in matching adopters with cats, provide information on the adoption process, and monitor playtime. Good communication skills are needed.

Volunteers in the morning shift clean each cat’s cage, including food dishes, litter boxes, and bedding. They feed and medicate cats as instructed and monitor playtime, as well as perform general cleaning tasks such as laundry and floor cleaning.

Evening volunteers feed and medicate cats according to their needs, scoop litter boxes, and clean as necessary. They also monitor playtime, ensuring the cats are comfortable and cared for.

Assist in packing holiday care packages for troops in combat zones. Volunteers will help organize, pack, and prepare packages for shipment. This event is a community effort to support our military personnel overseas.

Newark Volunteer Fire Department is always seeking new volunteers for firefighters, EMTs, and Auxiliary Members to support our operations and fundraising. We are looking for volunteers to fill the positions of Firefighters, EMR,s and EMT's. BRF serves the Town of Barnet VT, which includes the villages of: Passumpsic, East Barnet, Barnet, McIndoe Falls, and West Barnet. In addition we are members of the Twin State Mutual Aid Fire Association which provides mutual aid service to 25 departments on the Vt and NH border. BFR operates out of one station with 4 pieces of apparatus and responds to approximately 150 incidents per year with medical and motor vehicle accidents making up the majority of responses. Volunteers receive an annual stipend from the Town of Barnet for actual time spent on responses. The Town of Barnet also provides for Workers Compensation Insurance and a supplemental Accident and Sickness policy that covers all department activities. | Requirements: No previous experience required. Assist with managing food pantries, growing projects, and buffalo herd management to enhance food security within the tribe.

Volunteers help by preparing newsletters for mailing, advocating for SCAR at town meetings, putting up posters, and collecting signatures for petitions to support SCAR's initiatives.

Foster volunteers provide temporary homes for cats and kittens, offering love, training, and care. SCAR provides basic supplies and veterinary care, while foster families prepare the animals for adoption.

Volunteers are needed to help with morning cleaning and feeding of cats and kittens. This includes spending time with the animals and ensuring their environment is clean and comfortable. Volunteers are asked to commit a few hours 1-2 days a week.

Volunteers assist at Spay/Neuter and Vaccination clinics by greeting clients, completing paperwork, and taking payments. This helps keep the clinics low-cost and accessible to the community.
