Muskegon Charter Township Fire Department is actively recruiting men and women for openings as a Paid on Call Firefighter. This is a part time position, which involves responding to calls for emergencies when you are available. No fire training is necessary! We will provide the training for you to become a certified Firefighter and a licensed Medical First Responder. This job does require quite a bite of commitment, but can be a very rewarding job, with opportunities for career advancement. Most of our Paid on Call firefighters still work full time jobs elsewhere, while balancing being an on call firefighter in their time off. Muskegon Charter Township Fire Department is a combination fire department, meaning they employ both Full Time Firefighters and part time, Paid on Call Firefighters. You must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, a high school diploma, and live within the coverage area of our district – which is Muskegon Charter Township, Laketon Township, and a portion of Cedar Creek Township.
